Composition and Diversity Variation of Ferns (Pteridophyta) at Barangay San Rafael, Prosperidad, Agusan Del Sur Philippines: Distribution and Conservation Status

Ferns (Pteridophyta) are free-sporing vascular plants with a unique life cycle free-living gametophyte and sporophyte phases. The fern species has nearly 90% of the extant diversity, it was first higher-level pteridophyte classification in world. This study aimed to assess identify different composition diversity variation ferns found lower elevations at primary forest Barangay San Rafael, Prosperidad Agusan del Sur, Philippines. Moreover, researchers were used quadrat sampling method as one best classic tools utilized ecology especially determining specific sites. Also, Shannon’s index biological plant particularly (Pteridophyta). total number that primarily collected Prosperidad, Sur nine (9) from 5 families. linked gathered data by calculating its 1.864, showed medium because most likely communities similar all transects. Thus, area results more complex, stable, productive ecosystem could be observed Rafael Forest. show growth distribution inhibited significantly environment properties.
